As we begin the new year, you may want to make some changes to your house. One simple project you can do that will make a large change is switching up your trim. However, the varieties of trim you can put in your house can be overwhelming. How do you know which type of trim to choose?
Around the Edges
You might want to frame the area around windows and doors with casing. You might also cover the space between the wall and the floor, to create a simple frame finish. Crown moldings are making a comeback, and this is a great way to add texture near your ceiling. Crown molding can be a variety of designs, including cove, dentil, egg-and-dart, or pearl.
In the Middle
You might also want to spice your walls up with trim in the middle. Placed on the bottom fourth of the wall, chair railing will create a barrier for from furniture hitting the wall. Going in the opposite direction, you might put a piece of trim on the top fourth of the wall. This will offer a place for you to hang pictures or other decorations from.
Last week, we continued to work on a commercial interior drywall taping and painting in Seattle.
