According to the well established and well regarded opinion of Punxsutawney Phil, we were to have 6 more weeks of winter starting on February 2nd. He appears to have been right on the money for the Pacific Northwest as we have seen our fair share of showers. However, according to the vernal equinox, spring was supposed to have started on March 20th. I'm not sure if I am going to believe this date established by nature and derived by science, based on the weather we have been having. Nevertheless, it does appear that we may actually begin to experience spring soon.
What leads me to this conclusion? A quick glance at any flowers or trees that you may pass by, will show evidence of buds and possibly some early blooms. I will trust the instincts of our local vegetation to tell me when spring is here, anytime! What does this mean for us? Well, for many of you, the long awaited start of the season for our Seattle Mariners is today! Or would that only be some of you? Maybe the success of the Seattle Seahawks and the acquisition of Robinson Cano will translate into a playoff run for our Mariners? We can certainly hope so and be very optimistic about it, especially since this is only the first game of the season. The other meaning that it has for us is that we can start shifting back into some exterior painting as the weather clears up. We have begun looking at some different exterior painting projects and will start scheduling some soon. Our summers fill up very quickly, so any one that wants to make sure their project gets done this year, will want to check in with us as soon as possible. We have been working recently on a multifamily interior painting project. We also did a commercial wallcovering installation. Currently, we are continuing work on the multifamily interior painting and also a commercial interior painting and wallcovering installation. The commercial interior paint and wallcovering is a tenant improvement project at a local area mall. As everybody starts to come out of their winter hibernation and to tackle some of the projects that they have been putting off, we look forward to hearing from you! |
