Everyone loves a good plain wall, easy to decorate with, and easy to remain simple with. This year however, loud colors are shouting their entrance, and with that are bright floral patterns begging to be heard. With these bold decorating options, you might want to choose something that is easily replaceable with the times, like wallpaper!
Trying to stay ahead of the trends is tough work- but not with wallpaper. Wallpaper allows for you to design your room with the textures, patterns, and colors you prefer. Unlike paint, where texture is semi-permanent, there are many wallpapers that provide temporary texture for your walls. For instance, embossed abstract wallpaper. This wallpaper has thousands of designs that provide a raised finish. Paint also comes primarily in solid colors, allowing limited room for patterns and/or pictures. Wallpaper does not have this issue, and contains thousands of patterns for you to choose from - like the floral one trending this year! Finally wallpaper is easily removable, enabling you to effortlessly remove it and fill it will something more trendy.
The cost of wallpaper is actually very similar to the cost of paint when updating your walls. While paint costs anywhere from fifteen to fifty dollars a gallon (supplies adds another fifty or more), wallpaper costs around fifteen to thirty dollars a roll. That being said, professionals commonly charge from two-hundred to seven-hundred a room for paint, and anywhere from two-hundred to a thousand dollars a room for wallpaper. They both last around fifteen years if in good conditions. So being that cost is irrelevant, wallpaper is the better way to go when you want changeable patterns, styles, or looks in your house.
Last week we worked on a residential interior remodeling project in Bothell doing water damage repair and drywall.
Although wallpaper is easy to pick and easy to style with the times, it is not easy to hang. Getting the lines straight, and the paper smooth takes a lot of practice. Imagine putting a giant screen protector on your wall - you probably want a professional to do the job. With 16 ½ years of practice, we would love to help you alter your walls time and time again! Keep your guests loving your house!
